At the start of the collaboration, Moosaik faced significant challenges in maintaining their moss wall panels designed to improve urban air quality.

Complex Cable-Based System

The initial prototype of moss panels used a complex cable-based communication system to gather data on temperature and humidity. This system was prone to errors, especially due to outdoor exposure and weather conditions.

Maintenance Inefficiency

The complexity of the cable-based system made maintenance inefficient and challenging, hindering the scalability of the product.

Need for Scalability

Embever provided dedicated libraries to integrate the communication platform into the modules’ and wall control systems’ edge computing systems. This integration supports the addition of new sensors in the future due to the extra capacity designed into the system.

Real-Time Monitoring and Maintenance

The system gathers data on temperature and humidity conditions from sensors on the moss panels, allowing for real-time monitoring and efficient maintenance.
